Overview
For more than 30 years the NPCA Foundation has awarded scholarships to students pursuing studies in civil engineering, architecture, and construction-related programs. These awards support education and career development for individuals preparing to work in the precast concrete sector.

Careers connected to precast concrete span roles in manufacturing plants, architectural and engineering firms, the specifying community, and the broader construction industry.
Scholarships Available
- Undergraduate Scholarship: Available to high school seniors and current college students who intend to pursue a career related to the precast concrete industry.
- Daneen S. Barbour Graduate Scholarship: Supports post-graduate study for students pursuing careers connected to the precast concrete field.
Who Is Eligible
Applicants must be enrolled — or planning to enroll for the academic year immediately following the application deadline — in a certificate or undergraduate program at an accredited academic institution. The student’s area of study should be related to building, construction, or the precast concrete industry.
Award Structure and Internship Incentives
- First-year award: $3,500.
- To increase the award for subsequent years, students must complete internships of 320 hours or more with an NPCA member before the start of the next academic year:
- Completion of one qualifying internship before sophomore year raises the award to $4,500 for that year.
- Completion of a second qualifying internship before junior year raises the award to $5,500 for that year.
- Completion of a third qualifying internship before senior year raises the award to $6,500 for that year.
Application Instructions and Deadline
Complete the application form in full and submit it to the NPCA Foundation by March 13, 2026, to ensure review by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. If a question does not apply, enter N/A.
