Missouri 4-H Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Missouri 4-H Foundation
Introduction
The Missouri 4-H Foundation awards educational scholarships to current 4-H members and alumni who are pursuing post-secondary education. More than sixty scholarships are offered each year, with individual awards ranging from $500 to $2,500. A single application will be reviewed for all scholarships for which the candidate meets the donor’s specific conditions.
Eligibility and use of funds
- Applicants must be high school seniors or beyond and enrolled in post-secondary education at the time the scholarship is used.
- Scholarship funds must be claimed and used within nine months of the award date.
Application process and required materials
- Create a profile in the Foundation’s scholarship portal and provide requested biographical details and financial need information.
- Upload your essays as PDF or Word documents. Essays should be typed in 12-point Arial font and single-spaced.
- Unless a donor specifies otherwise, applicants must have at least a 2.50 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Home-schooled applicants who cannot provide a transcript may submit ACT or SAT scores instead; an ACT score of 17 or higher or an SAT score of 1000 or higher is considered equivalent to a 2.50 GPA.
Selection process and scoring
A review committee ranks applicants according to the following weighting (unless a donor sets different criteria):
- 70% — 4-H achievement
- 20% — financial need
- 10% — work/career goals
Financial-need scoring details
Financial-need points are calculated as follows:
- 1 point for each dependent child in the family under age 21
- 2 points for each family member currently attending college
Adjusted gross income (AGI) points:
- 10 points for AGI less than $35,000
- 7 points for AGI $35,000 to $59,999
- 5 points for AGI $60,000 to $99,999
- 2 points for AGI $100,000 or more
Note: Individual scholarships may include additional donor-defined requirements; applicants should review each scholarship’s conditions in the portal.
