Truth, Justice, and Fairness Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Siegfried and Jensen

Overview The Truth, Justice, and Fairness Scholarship accepts applications from undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at any United States–accredited college, university, or graduate program. Applicants must create a short video responding to the scholarship prompt and submit a link to that video as part of their completed application.

Who may apply To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following:

• Be enrolled in a U.S.-accredited college, university, or graduate school (undergraduate or graduate level).
• Be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
• Be a resident of the United States.
• Be in good academic standing with their institution.
• Provide required personal and academic information (full name, contact details, school information).
• Produce and submit an original video addressing the scholarship topic.

The following individuals are not eligible:

• Employees of Siegfried and Jensen, or their children.
• Previous recipients of the Truth, Justice, and Fairness Scholarship.
• Applicants who would refuse or are unable to participate in an interview with a Siegfried and Jensen representative if selected.
• Applicants who reuse the same video to apply for multiple scholarships or who submit the same entry in multiple years.

Video requirements and prompt

• Topic: Explain how you plan to use a law degree to assist underserved communities. Your response should consider how you would influence the existing personal injury law system and how your background or experience would help protect communities that are often marginalized.
• Length: 2 to 3 minutes.
• Format and hosting: Upload the video to YouTube as an unlisted video and include the YouTube link in your completed application.
• Editing and creative tools: You may use any video editing software (for example, Adobe Creative Cloud). AI-assisted generation is permitted only for supplemental footage such as B-roll. Using AI to produce the entire submission—this includes generating the whole script, replacing the applicant with a stand-in, or using AI voice synthesis/voice modulation for the applicant—will result in automatic disqualification.

Required on-screen statements and credits

• At the beginning of the video, state: your full name and the name of the scholarship for which you are applying. Also disclose any necessary credits for media libraries or professional resources used.
• At the end of the video, list and credit any editing tools, stock media libraries, or other third-party resources used in production.
• Title your video and ensure it is shared with Siegfried and Jensen prior to the application deadline.

Best practices for recording

• Record in a well-lit space with minimal background noise (sound-treated rooms are recommended) to ensure clear audio and visuals.
• Produce a polished, original presentation that clearly addresses the prompt.

Application deadline and review process

• All application materials, including the unlisted YouTube link, must be submitted by June 30, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
• The scholarship selection committee may take up to three months after the deadline to choose a winner. During that period the committee requests that applicants and their families refrain from contacting Siegfried and Jensen for status updates. Only the selected recipient will be notified.

Contact and late submissions

• Please do not request exceptions to the deadline; applications submitted after June 30, 2026, or incomplete applications will not be accepted and inquiries asking to submit late will not receive a response.
