FMC Skaters Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Facility Management Corporation
Introduction
Established in 1993, the FMC Skaters Scholarship was created to offer financial support to ice-sport athletes and recreational skaters who display exemplary character and performance both on and off the ice. Each year in June, scholarships are awarded to participants from ice hockey, figure skating, and recreational skating disciplines.
Program impact and selection
Since its inception, FMC has distributed more than $495,000 in educational scholarships to upwards of 470 graduating high school students pursuing further education. Recipients are chosen by a review committee that evaluates candidates based on academic achievement, participation in extracurricular and community activities, and their accomplishments and leadership demonstrated on the ice. The scholarship program reflects FMC’s ongoing commitment to the communities it serves: supporting youth development on and off the ice, keeping participation costs as accessible as possible, providing quality development programs, and helping to offset some higher-education expenses.
Eligibility
- Open to high school seniors who demonstrate personal excellence on and off the ice.
- Applicants must be residents of New England and actively skate at FMC arenas.
